From the upcoming AEOC website...
“The Catholic identity is one of universality. Our God wills that none should perish, and as such, we have a reasonable hope that all souls will be saved; if not today, then tomorrow; if not tomorrow, then the day after. We are not a people of condemnation, of judgment, of unjust repudiation, but a people of love, of compassion, of fellowship and of community, of service and of devotion. We...

That Purusha, the size of a thumb, is like a...
In Hinduism, “Purusha” is the First-Born, the Word, the Chief Priest, the Universal Sacrifice, who is called the Light of all worlds. This verse compares him to a flame, something YHVH is always associated with in the Bible, and says he is the same today and tomorrow. It corresponds closely with St. Paul to the Hebrews 13:8,
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and...

patiamur asked: Wow. For someone so anti-Rome your theology seems quite orthodox. I haven't encountered that combination before. This is very interesting. What do you have to say about the communion of saints?

Regarding Lenten fasts...
I’ve seen a lot of posts of people sharing what they are giving up for Lent. A lot of these things don’t seem to encourage a closer relationship to God by extension. It seems as though people are using Lent as an egoic challenge, to see what they can give up, rather than as a spiritual penance, to see how close to God they can draw themselves.
Before you give up anything for Lent,...

holycatholicrosaryofthefree asked: I know you already posted something about an Upanishad quote that relates to the Trinity but I can't seem to find the quote even though you cited it. I have the Eknath Easwaran edition of the Upanishads. In other words, what is the name of the Upanishad chapter (besides 3.8)? Thank you and may Jesus Yeshua Ha-Mashiach Christ of Nazareth bless you always!

Anonymous asked: After all the recent deaths in my family, I've lost a lot of faith, It's hard to go on without them here with me.. Especially since we didn't have the relationship we were supposed to have. How do we know there is an afterlife? What did Jesus say about death of loved ones?

shadowsong123 asked: 1. Why don't you believe in hell?( It seems that Jesus does, when he mentions "weeping and gnashing of teeth.") 2. Is God good and omnipotent? 3. Do we have any real proof that Jesus actually existed? 4. What are your thoughts on the Gnostic gospels? Thank you, and peace and blessings be with you!

Anonymous asked: I notice you have talked about the truth and divine nature of scripture, that the Bible is the only manual one needs to know Christ, that sort of thing (I hope I'm rephrasing you correctly). But what is the Bible, to you? How do you tell the wheat from the chaff? Could you talk a bit about apocrypha, pseudepigrapha, the Septuagint, and such? I guess I'm having trouble squaring the idea...

If you're doing Lent,
tiffanyhua:
and if you believe in God, then give up something that will make you closer to Him, or better your behavior? If you give up Facebook, all you’re getting is more time. Are you going to better yourself with that time? Probably not. If you give up meat, all you’re not getting is enough protein for your body. How will that make you closer to God?
I found this quote on Tumblr: Your...

God on how he wants us to fast for Lent...
This is the kind of fast I want:
I want you to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, and to break every burdensome yoke. I want you to share your food with the hungry and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. When you see someone naked, clothe him! Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood!
Then...

The Trinity is the first thing we learn about God...
“In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth; the earth came to formless and void, and darkness was upon the face of the abyss. And the Spirit of God hovered over the waters. And God said, “Let there be Light!” and Light was.”
God the Father made all things by his power and will, the Holy Spirit, and through his Image, the Son. Without the interaction of the...

mycollegecloset asked: Ash Wednesday always creeps up on me. What are some good things to give up?
Anonymous asked: Some people argue that if God was real and omnipotent and omnibenevolent, the Bible would tell us (or He would have just come out and told us) things like how to cure diseases, that the sun is the center of the solar system and other scientific truths, and that slavery is evil, that is wrong to ever beat your children, that men and women are equal no matter what instead of allowing things like...

A message about Lent to all the faithful...
Don’t give up anything you don’t need to give up. It’s meaningless. Lent celebrates Our Lord and prepares us to join in union with him through his death and resurrection. It is absolutely meaningless to give up things you never do, or to give up only what you want to. This season is about sacrifice. Take a step and truly give something of yourself.
Does this mean abstaining from...

Vocational Preparation material is being worked on...
We have a few potential candidates for the priesthood who are expressing interest in the AEOC. I’ll be working on the sacramental rites and study material, including Hermeneutics and Church history. Unfortunately, this means I’ll be able to post less on Tumblr until it’s done.
Be blessed everyone!
Anonymous asked: Does that mean body modification is a sin? I got my tongue pierced and some people told me to get down on my knees and beg God's forgiveness for rebelling against Him. And they were Pentecostal, not Catholic.
Anonymous asked: I am curious on your opinion on peoples stories where they "die and go to the afterlife" and back? Like one guy killed himself, he did die.. and said he went somewhere he considered "Hell" others Heaven, but brought back by a "voice" and obviously paramedics. haha.
Anonymous asked: I was asking because someone in my family passed away from drug addiction / alcohol poisoning.. Some family says "he obviously went to Hell where he deserves" and things, it hurts so much.
Anonymous asked: Is drug/alcohol a sin that sends you to Hell / away from God when you die?
Anonymous asked: Hey man, they're lying to you. Your god isn't real
